3rd phase of the project “Music and Nation”. This workshop explores musical recomposition and the use of music at the end of war.
Cultural demobilization processes, scores of mourning and commemoration, aesthetic and institutional reconfigurations, as well as the links between music and diplomacy are at the very heart of this reflection.
This workshop is organized in order to prepare the colloquium “Music and Wars’ End” (19th-21st centuries) which will be held at Montreal University from 18th to 20th of October 2018. Short presentations will be followed by collective discussion.
