New towns, arrival cities

In 2017, the Communauté d’Agglomération Grand Paris Sud got involved with 4 other european towns in a project named “New towns, arrival cities” aiming at promoting the migrants’ participation in the building of new towns in Europe. This project, sponsored by the programme “Europe for citizens”, plans the organization of 5 seminars in each participant city. A first seminar about cultural identity was hold in 2017 in Milton Keynes (Great Britain), to which Grand Paris Sud participated. The next seminars will be held in may 2018 in Sabaudia (Italy), in december 2018 in Vallingby (Sweeden) and in 2019 in Nissewaard (Holland), town leader of this project. Grand Paris Sud will organise a seminar in october 2018 about the “Migrant in the new town : what citizenship education programmes ?”. This project is driven by the Direction de la politique de la ville with the participation of the International relations and european affairs directorate.

As part of the organisation and the execution of the seminar on its territory, a partnership between Grand Paris Sud and the University of Evry is being proposed.

On the 17th and the 18th of October 2018, the University of Evry co-organises, with Grand Paris Sud, a two-day conference in relation to the “New towns, arrival cities programme”. Teachers as well as Master students in LEA will be requested to do simultaneous interpretation for the occasion.
